A Georgia couple was married for 71 years before dying side by side on Friday at exactly 12 o'clock.

Herbert Delaigle, 94, died at 2:20 pm and his wife, Marilyn, 88, died at 2:20 pm, according to DeLoach McKerley-Prescott funeral homes.

Herbert was a retired sergeant from the United States Army after serving during the Second World War and the wars of Korea and Vietnam. Together, they lived in several states during his service, including six years in Germany. They worked side by side at Marilyn's Nursery for several years. They were members of the Baptist Church of Botsford and the Senior Citizen Club of the church, according to their obituaries.
