The Medical and Dental Council has arrested an alleged quack doctor in Anyinam, in the eastern region.
The suspect, Kankam Nkrumah, was arrested in flagrante delicto at the Yesukrom Medical Center's counseling center, where he practiced medicine without a license.
The information collected by Starr News indicates that the Medical and Dental Council's investigation unit headed by the Executive Director, Bright Atsu Fuglo and Desmond Asamoah, on January 21, 2019, stormed the community to undertake his routine work of licensed practitioners – doctors, medical badistants and certified anesthetists in Anyinam – but during the exercise, they noticed the suspect Nkrumah Kankam, sitting in the consultation room, who allegedly practiced unlicensed medicine .
He was interrogated then arrested and handed over to the police of Anyinam.
DSP Ebenezer Tetteh, Public Relations Officer of the East Region Police Command, confirmed the arrest of Starr News when he was contacted.
He added that the police had recovered 15 patient files and a stethoscope as evidence while investigations were continuing.
