The deputy of Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, was sued by a Lebanese businessman born in Lebanon, Hbadan Zein, for defamation.

Zein filed a lawsuit against the legislator and its television channel, NET 2, for false allegations against him in a documentary.

The businessman revealed that all efforts to retract and, therefore, apologize, have proved futile.

According to a report from 3news.com, a brief states that 100 million GH ¢ represents the damages claimed by the businessman.

According to the complainant, the screening of the documentary, in December 2018, defamed him and damaged his reputation.

The documentary allegedly showed Zein in cases of fraud, drugs, money laundering and corruption.

It was intended to give the impression that he had defrauded his victims in various countries, including Togo, Nigeria, Mali and Benin.

"The plaintiff claims that the video clip, as well as the commentary and discussions that followed shortly after the clip, were highly and seriously defamatory and damaged his reputation and activity", the brief noted.
