BEIJING – The Chinese model in the ads of the Italian fashion line Dolce & Gabbana that were widely ridiculed in the country apologized for its appearance in the campaign.

Zuo Ye declares on her Weibo microblog that recently graduated she did not have time to examine the effect of the commercials in which she was filmed while trying to eat pizzas, spaghetti and a giant version a cannoli pastry.

Following criticism of the commercials, the Milanese designers canceled a parade in Shanghai last year with the aim of paying homage to China as their guest list of Asian celebrities joined the protests.

When retailers started selling their products, co-founders Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana went to the camera to apologize to the Chinese people.
