AMSTERDAM: Chinese employees have stolen business secrets from ASML, a Dutch semiconductor maker, causing losses of several hundred million euros, the Dutch financial daily Financieele Dagblad reported Thursday.

The newspaper said that, based on its own investigation, a technology had been stolen by Chinese high-level employees of the research and development department and leaked to the Chinese government.

"ASML has found no tangible proof of the Chinese government's involvement," the paper quoted the company based in Veldhoven as saying.
