A cotton swab causes an infection of the skull in humans – Cleansing your ears with ear buds can be very dangerous!

New Delhi: Whenever you feel that your ears are dirty or slightly clogged, do you take a cotton swab and start digging to clean them? It does not matter if you do it because most people do the same and have learned to do it since childhood. However, these innocent-looking cotton swabs may actually be more dangerous than they would suggest.

According to a report published in the newspaper BMJ In the UK, a man swore never to touch a headset again when he developed an infection putting his life in danger. The publication reports that the tip of the cotton swab got stuck in the ear of the man when cleaning, which he had not even understood and which had resulted the development of a skull infection.

The 31-year-old man was rushed to the emergency ward of the hospital after an epileptic seizure and collapsed. In ten days that eventually led to the crisis, the man complained of a pain in his left ear and a discharge that came out. He also had severe headaches, vomiting and even started to forget people's names.

Previously, the man had had several treatments in the left ear due to infections and therefore did not take the problem seriously, thinking that it could be one. However, when the doctors examined his brain and his ears, they discovered an inflammation with pus in the bones of his skull, near the left auditory cbad. The infection that had probably started in the ear cbad had spread to her skull.

Doctors had to perform a small surgery to treat the problem. They then found the tip of the cotton swab covered with wax and debris and concluded that it could have aggravated the problem and even led to the spread of the infection.
