A couple at the age of 16 and 44 defended their relationship in the new Channel 5 series, Age Gap Love.
Beth could not legally drink alcohol when she met her other half, but she has since married her older man and shared two children with him.
"The age gap does not really bother me," Beth told the cameras as she addressed their difference of 28 years.
"This has never been done. I do not see him as an old man or my father, or something like that.
"He's just sensitive. Like a big teddy bear.
"I was worried about what people would think," Andy said. "16, 44, it's a big gap. It's a generational gap, sort of. So it's like what people will think?
Andy was originally a friend of Beth's mother and became close to her children over the years.
"We were all like a happy family," he admitted. "But needless to say, I did not know Beth had these ideas that she wanted me to be her man happy forever.
It was not until Beth was 16 that the duo discussed improving their friendship.
