Salifu Maase aka Mugabe
The Accra District Court admitted Salifu Maase, aka Mugabe, a radio show host, to pay a 50,000 Ghce surety with three sureties.
The court, chaired by Ms. Eva Bannerman Williams, has granted a bail to the host of the radio show following an application for bail of his lawyer. , Mr. Godwin Edudzi Tamakloe.
Mugabe has been accused of offensive conduct for violating the public peace and publishing false news to arouse fear and panic.
He was charged with offensive conduct for allegedly calling the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and all police officers of the country on a political broadcast on XYZ Radio on February 8, 2019.
He was also accused of publishing false news after stating in the same broadcast that the ruling party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), had decided to kill journalist Manbadeh Azure Awuni of the Multimedia group.
