A group of people in Huhunya killed and burned an alleged armed thief who was part of a fleeing gang that escaped the attack of a community that they were going to steal after shooting two angry young people chasing them.

The thief was tied up and burned in the trunk of the car used for the robbery.

The bodies of the two deceased residents – Jerry Tettehfio and Aaron Padi Attarmah – were dropped off at the morgue of the East Regional Hospital in Koforidua.

The charred body of the alleged thief who was driving the car with registration number GW 4151-19 was seized by the police.

The information collected indicates that a group of thieves consisting of about four thieves stole goats in Tenguanya, near Klo Agogo, an agricultural community in the area, and were chased by youth from the community. Another group in Huhunya mounted a roadblock preventing thieves from escaping.

The thieves shot two of the youths who were pursuing them on a motorcycle and escaped through the bush, leaving the driver who was subsequently arrested. The youths then set it on fire.

A member of the Huhunya Assembly, Joseph Anorhia, confirmed the incident at Starr News. He added that there had been an increase in the number of goat flights in the area in recent times.
