A fire raged Wednesday night at Odawna Market, in the vast circle of Kwame Nkrumah in Accra.
The fire was declared around 8 pm and destroyed shops and other properties.
Firefighters took at least an hour to control the flames.
The fire on Wednesday night comes just 24 hours after shots and explosions hit the armory of Ghana's armed forces at Michel Camp Barracks in Tema also in the Greater Accra region.
This is not the first time the Odawna market has witnessed a destructive fire.

Authorities cite people sleeping and cooking on the market for fires.
Wednesday's fire did not kill, but thousands of Ghanaian cedis were destroyed.
An Accra Metropolitan Assembly official, AMA, Richard Mensah, told Joseph Opoku Gakpo, of Joy News, that at least 85 stores had been destroyed.
