An "inebriated" pbadenger terrorized easyJet staff on board a flight that was due to land at Edinburgh Airport.

The flight crew had to call the emergency after the "aggressive" pilot threatened the pbadengers and crew as he crisscrossed the corridor – before "breaking" his iPhone in half.

Flight EZY1805 was sailing over Scotland when it was to be redirected to the capital.

An eyewitness to the robbery told The Sun Online: "He was walking down the aisle, blowing on his electronic cigarette, shouting insults to the pbadengers at the front of the plane.

"I told him to stop being silly because he seemed drunk, then he threatened me."

Our source then revealed that the cabin crew was so "afraid" of the unidentified pbadenger that the flight had to be hijacked.

The insider added: "The staff was scared and uncomfortable when flying with him, so we turned away. They quietly told us before the plane why we had to land. They were very good and complete professionals. "

Another pbadenger went on social media, revealing that the unruly flyer had broken his phone and had tried to turn on the battery.

He said: "Landing urgently in Edinburgh on my Manchester-Iceland flight for a suspicious pbadenger who broke his iPhone in half and turned on his battery at the exit of the flight."

The plane left Manchester at 4 pm to get to Keflavik airport in Reykjavik.

He was scheduled to arrive in Iceland at 7 pm but had to divert flying over Scotland because of the unruly pbadenger.

An easyJet spokesman said: "We can confirm that the EZY1805 flight from Manchester to Keflavik was forced to divert to Edinburgh and was greeted by the police upon his arrival due to a pbadenger to disruptive behavior.

"EasyJet cabin crew members are trained to badess all situations and to act quickly and appropriately to ensure that the safety of the flight and other pbadengers is not compromised at any time.

"Although such incidents are rare, we take them very seriously and do not tolerate abusive or threatening behavior on board.

"The safety and well-being of pbadengers and crew are always the priority of EasyJet."

Police Scotland has been contacted for comments.
