A JHS graduate commits suicide after failing in his choice of school

Agona Asafo, (C / R), 15 September, GNA – A 15
High School Graduate (JHS) committed suicide by hanging at
Agona Asafo in the Agona East District of the Central Region for not having
his school of choice.

Master Isaac Arhin, affectionately called
Yaw completed the first cycle of high school in Tema and got a total of 20 but the
Computer Selection School Selection System (CSSPS) placed it in Kwahu Tafo
Eastern region.

According to the deceased's sister,
Mrs. Georgina Boabeng, who told the sad incident to the journalists of Asafo,
the boy was at his uncle's home in Tema where he finished the BECE course of 2019.

Ms. Boabeng said that he was going home

Ms. Boabeng said around 5 am
in the morning, the deceased told him that he was very hungry but was told food
the sellers were not ready and she left the house to collect money from someone who

Ms. Boabeng said that she had found her door locked
on his return and several hits on it went unanswered until a pbader-by
suggested that they should break the door only to find the lifeless body of the boy
hanging.

She said that a report was made to Agona
Swedru District Police Command, headed by Chief Inspector Opoku-Mensah, left
on the scene to recover the body and was deposited in Swedru Municipal
Government Mortuary Hospital for autopsy.

Chief Inspector Opoku Mensah told the media
later that investigations were underway to solve the mystery behind
suicide.
