A-League Review: Jamie Maclaren scores on his return

Jamie Maclaren scored his Melbourne debut with a goal as they were fighting for a 1-1 draw at home against Adelaide United on Saturday.

The striker, who was playing his first match of the A-League League since April 2017 after joining City last month, saved a point for the home team during a competitive clash at the AAMI Park.

Adelaide took advantage 43 minutes later, Craig Goodwin converted Nikola Mileusnic's center with a stunning header.

Former Perth Glory striker Maclaren equalized 24 minutes after the break, which allowed Luke Brattan to return to goalkeeper Paul Izzo.

The result means that Adelaide, who sits in fourth, remains two points above City in the table.

Earlier, the Sydney Wanderers of the West West had won 2-0 against the Mariners of the last place, the Central Coast.

Tarek Elrich opened the scoring at half-time, his center evading everyone in the area and goalkeeper Ben Kennedy before finding the right corner of the net.

Jaushua Sotirio pbaded the ball past Kennedy after being sent by Roly Bonevacia to settle the game 13 minutes from the end and give the Wanderers their third victory of the season.
