Kojo Ackah, who is the uncle of the deceased, told Ocean1 TV that he was woken Wednesday at dawn by an announcement from the community information center asking residents to search for Joe.
After investigation, he was informed that Joe had stormed into people the previous night and had wounded four people, including a prophetess, with machetes and left one unconscious.

Eguafo Abirem Assembly Member Michael Botsio told Ocean1 TV that they could not determine the reasons for Joe's action, especially in cases where no mental disorder was reported or diagnostic.
Dr. Zachariah Mankir from the University of Cape Coast Hospital said the prophetess Hannah had been taken to the hospital before the others arrived.
Considering the conditions of the three and the hospital schedule at the time, he said, they sent the three back to the Cape Coast University Hospital.
Dr. Mankir said efforts were being made to ensure that the prophetess was properly rehabilitated so that she could use her arms effectively because the cuts were very deep.
