The Tamale High Court sentenced Nba Tikuli, 55, to 15 years in jail for desecrating a 15-year-old girl in Savelugu, Northern Region.
Last Friday, the suspect was brought before the Tamale High Court, where he pled guilty to blindness and was found guilty of pleading on his own and sentenced to 15 years in prison.
The victim (undisclosed identity) was admitted to the Savelugu Municipal Hospital and responds to the treatment.
The Northeast Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Yusif Mohammed Tanko, who confirmed the incident to DAILY GUIDE, said on July 7, 2019, at around 10:30 pm, that the victim Savelugu was crying and complaining of severe abdominal pain with blood his private part.
According to him, when she was confronted with her uncle, she mentioned Nba Tikuli as the one who had lured her to her room on the pretext of buying fish and who had bad with strength.
The uncle of the victim who confronted the suspect subsequently filed a complaint with the Savelugu police.
He said that the suspect was later arrested by the police and that the case was transferred to DOVVSU in Tamale. When the suspect was confronted, he admitted the offense.
