A Mexican man is almost buried alive trying to spy on his ex-wife, reports Metro.

Cesar Arnoldo Gomez, 50, was found stuck in a tunnel for more than 24 hours.

He would have spent a week digging under the home of his ex-wife, Griselda Santillán (58 years old) .Griselda began to suspect that something was happening while she was hearing strange noises coming from the back from his house, but that it was wandering animals.

It was only when the noises intensified Thursday that she went to investigate.

According to local media reports, Cesar and Griselda spent 14 years together until she left the firm because he was too jealous. After the divorce, a court ordered Caesar to stay away from Griselda because of domestic violence charges against him.

Rescuers were called to take Cesar out of the tunnel, after he refused to leave. He was treated at the hospital for dehydration after his rescue, and then sent directly to prison for violating his no-contact order.
