A man was shot in the fire after throwing his gun at a badroach for the purpose of crushing the insect, police said.

The 50-year-old man, whose name is unknown, told police in Detroit, Michigan, that he had tried to suppress the virus Tuesday morning by tossing a shoe. Only a revolver hidden inside could send a bullet in his direction.

After throwing his basketball on the badroach, the man's weapon fell and fired, hitting him with his foot.

The authorities said that the man had been taken to a local hospital and was in a stable state after the incident. It is unclear whether he managed to crush the badroach or not.

The Detroit police department said he had not been able to confirm the man's version, reported by the reporter. This is not the first time that Detroit sees an injury caused by a person who has done everything possible to kill an insect.

In January 2016, a man was severely burned after trying to light burning bugs in his apartment.

He sprayed his infested furniture with alcohol and lit a cigarette. He used to try to burn one of the tiny insects, but he ended up burning himself and the couch.

The incident also destroyed four apartments and caused water damage in over 20 other units.

In 2015, a woman named Sherry Young tried to use alcohol and a flame to kill bedbugs, but ended up triggering a huge fire that destroyed her 48 units in her building.

Five people, including an unnamed woman and three firefighters, were transported to the hospital.
