After feeling a sharp chest pain, a man went to the hospital and was shocked to learn that his discomfort was due to the keys to the house that he thought he had lost.
A Chinese man with severe chest pain was shocked after visiting the hospital. He learned that his discomfort was caused by the keys to the house he thought he had lost the previous night after getting drunk with his friends.
The 26-year-old man, identified only as Chang, a native of Guangdong, China, went for a drink with his friends to celebrate the end of another long week of work.
Back home in the middle of the night, he searched for his keys but did not find them. He called someone inside and asked him to let him in.
He was quite drunk, so he did not drop his lost keys and went straight to bed.

The next morning, as the numbing effect of alcohol began to fade, Chang felt a sharp pain in his chest. He went to the local Dongguan Hospital for verification.
When the doctors performed an X-ray of the chest, they were shocked to see what looked like a key in his esophagus.
They asked him questions about it and he admitted to having lost his keys to the house the night before, but could not explain how they ended up in his body.
According to the Chinese information website Sohu, he was as surprised as doctors when he saw the x-ray.
Staff at the Dongguan Hospital badyzed the situation and decided that it was too risky to let the keys pbad through Chang's digestive system and be eliminated naturally, as the hard object could tear his intestines or cause an obstruction intestinal tract that can be fatal.
At the same time, trying to remove it using endoscopic equipment could cause a rupture of his esophagus. The third option was emergency surgery.
Dr. Zhang Yuyu told reporters that they had first tried to remove the keys with the help of a gastroscope, but had encountered problems trying to remove the key through the narrowest part of Chang's esophagus, near the gorge.
The key was too big and pulling too hard could have torn the esophagus, which would have been "Unimaginable consequences".

They therefore abandoned the procedure and reconsidered their options.
To make matters worse, most of the hospital staff was on vacation for a holiday, but thankfully an anesthetist and the deputy director of the hospital's gastroenterology department canceled their plans and came to help out. the emergency situation.
After the anesthesiologist administered a drug that relaxed his muscles, a gastroenterologist was able to remove the metal key and plastic access card from the man's esophagus.
How Chang finally swallowed his keys remains a mystery that will probably never be solved, because he remembers nothing of his evening filled with alcohol.
