Democratic Congressional Caucus (NDC) calls on government to withdraw
the renegotiated oil deal that he signs with AGM / Aker Energy,
explaining that "it is contrary to the interest of the state".

The Caucus called on civil society and well-meaning Ghanaians to resist,
because it could short-circuit the citizens.

The minority, led by its leader and his deputy for

Iddrisu recalled that Ghana's 43% participation in the agreement signed on
in 2013, under the NDC led by John Mahama, between the Government of Ghana,
Ghana National Petroleum Corporation, GNPC Explorco on one side and
AGM Petroleum Ghana Limited, should be reduced to 18% in accordance with the proposal of

The NDC caucus wondered why the new proposal
Parliament was seized hastily and called the "renegotiation of
a scam all the more so since GNPC has already invested more than 30 million dollars in
the acquisition of data and the reduction of exploration risks on the block, thereby making it

The agreement is a real scam, a betrayal of the trust of the people granted to
this government NPP, "said the leader of the minority.

According to the NDC caucus, the former head of energy
Minister Boakye Agyarko rejected a similar request from Aker Energy Group,
on the basis that the terms were detrimental to the national interest, and
so asked why the current minister. Peter Amewu would accept the
agreement, accusing him of doing so for political reasons.

Mr. Iddrisu asked if there were enough controls on
the story of a one-month company called Quad Company Limited, the local company
partner, with five actions at stake.

"Clearly, it is an attempt by a stranger
hands to deflect the process and introduce entities without the required conditions
financial and industrial experience, "observed the minority.

She called for rejecting the proposal
renegotiated agreement AG / Aker Energy, renegotiation of the withdrawal for a better
agreement before it is ratified by the House.
