ALMA, Ark. (WVLT / KFSM) – A mother from Arkansas went to Payless to buy some cheap shoes for her three children. She left with the whole store.

Carrie Jernigan bought every pair of shoes at a site in Alma and plans to donate nearly 1,500 shoes to students before the start of the school year.

Jernigan told CBS affiliate KFSM that she had had the idea of her young daughter, who had asked her if she could buy a pair of Avengers themed shoes for her clbadmate who loved the super -heros and whose shoes were too small.

"When I left, I just said" how much for the rest of the shoes in the store ", almost joking and I could see the clerks, her face, her wheels start spinning and she finished watching me. She said "can I have your number? & # 39; "says Carrie Jernigan

Jernigan thought he would buy between 200 and 300 pairs of shoes, but that number has more than tripled. The woman received a call from the district manager who told her that she could buy the rest of the store.

"The next thing you know, we're trying to find a way to bring back about 1,500 shoes home that day," said Jernigan.

Jernigan bought the shoes in May and plans to host a weekend party before the start of clbades so families can buy new shoes for their kids.

Jernigan says he is happy that his daughter has asked to buy these shoes from his clbadmate, as they will now be able to help even more children in their community.
