Isaac Mensah's arm is rotting after his mother-in-law cut him off accidentally without curing him
The left arm of a five-year-old boy in the central region breaks down quickly after his mother-in-law accidentally cut her off a few weeks ago, without however treating her.
Currently, the boy's left forearm, Isaac Mensah, has deteriorated due to the rapid decomposition of the shoulder.
Doctors at the Cape Coast Regional Hospital say his arm is no longer functional because his cells and veins are all dead. According to them, they will have to amputate the arm before it causes further damage by the infection.
The hospital authorities therefore asked the district director of the National Commission for Civic Education (CNCE) of Abura / Asebu / Kwamankese, who took the child to the school, to contact the boy's parent. to obtain the consent of the amputation.
Two men saw the boy in town in Ahomfi on Monday, January 28, and were alarmed by a rotten hand.
During the interrogation, the boy claimed that he had carried cbadava sticks to the farm for the mother-in-law with whom he was staying and that, while they were working on the farm, his Mother-in-law had inadvertently cut her left hand but had not treated her for a week.
According to the boy, a week after the mother-in-law noticed that her hand was swollen and that her condition was deteriorating, she boiled water and immersed Mensah's hand because he was out of pain. and that he had resisted.
The two good Samaritans, who were shocked by the boy's story, immediately reported the problem to NCCE District Director Ellen Osei.
She also reported the case to the district police the same day with one of the men, Haminu Mohammed.
They then took the Mensah to the Cape Coast Regional Hospital for a medical examination of the arm.
Ms. Osei told our correspondent that the doctors of the institution, after the examination, had decided to amputate the affected arm to avoid further damage, but said that they had asked the consent of the parent.
According to her, the district police will take the boy's father to the hospital to give surgeons the go-ahead for the amputation of the arm, after which they will open an investigation into the incident with a view to 39, a possible pursuit of the mother-in-law.
