A new documentary that follows Joey Barton in his managerial journey with Fleetwood Town has captured breathtaking images from a cloakroom drop.

The Ligue 1 club followed Juventus, Manchester City and Sunderland – all of whom had their own series on the fly – allowing film crews to capture footage of all areas.

Filming began in the pre-season following Barton's arrival as manager, his first coaching spell after his playing career ended prematurely with a ban on FA.

Barton was suspended for 18 months by the Football Association in April 2017 after discovering that he had placed 1,260 bets on games over 10 years ago.

But he came to the Fleetwood manager position at the end of the ban and his career with the League One club will give viewers a glimpse of his transition from player to coach.

A trailer for the documentary was released Thursday, and a clip briefly shows a piece of locker room involving striker Paddy Madden and a teammate.

Madden could be seen having a heated discussion in the Fleetwood locker room, and he was almost out with his teammate before Ched Evans broke up.

The film crew had only rare access this season, including discussions with Barton's team, board meetings, January deadline transfer negotiations and all aspects the day-to-day running of the club.

Fleetwood Town President Andy Pilley said, "As one of the greatest players in football from player to manager, this series takes a close look at Joey's career at Fleetwood Town.

"I believe that the level of access granted to film crews to Joe, the players and his staff is unprecedented.

"The production team is rooted in the heart of the club and in Friday Films we found a partner we could trust, in an environment that can be very intimate and very busy.

"We are also delighted to engage SENT Entertainment, which also shares our vision of providing such unique access to viewers.

"As a club, we look forward to revealing the true story of the current season."
