According to a Bloomberg report, a new game setting in the world of PUBG will be released in 2022 for PC and consoles. The interview was conducted with Krafton CEO Kim Chang-Han, where it is revealed that a “new battle royale title” based on the game will be released.
The new game is The Callisto Protocol, a survival horror set in the PUBG universe, and is also being developed by Striking Distance Studios. It was first announced in December of last year.
Glen Schofield, creator of the Callisto protocol and leader of the studio, said the game is linked to battle royale with “few connections here and there.”
As of yet, no additional information has been revealed, and it’s unclear whether it will hit the Xbox Series X and PS5 only. In addition, Bloomberg adds that PUGB Krafton also plans “an initial public offering in mid-2021”.
PUBG has been a huge success since its launch in 2017 and has won over 70 million copies on PC and consoles.
