A parity developer abandons his Ethereum projects despite outrage over a recent tweet

Afri Schoeden, head of publication at Parity Technologies, the infrastructure infrastructure company, left all Ethereum projects after a controversial tweet that sparked outrage from social media. Schoeden has been keeping up with the blockchain BreakerMag media on Thursday, February 21st.

In his tweet, Schoeden reportedly criticized Serenity, also known as "Ethereum 2.0," a latest upgrade to the Ethereum network that integrates its core network into a Game Validation Consensus (PoS) algorithm. The tweet, which has since been deleted, would read as follows:

"Polkadot delivers what serenity should be …"

Polkadot is the next Parity protocol to link different strings of blocks. Schoedon told BreakerMag that he "will no longer work on Ethereum or Ethereum-related projects," but that he will stay with Parity. He explained the meaning of the recent tweet:

"Polkadot is not a direct competitor of Ethereum and the chains such as Ethereum have always been an integral part of Polkadot's vision. The goal of my tweet was not Polkadot nor the competition, but Serenity, which, to me, was going too slowly and I'm afraid it [won’t] question more once we get there. People did not understand that and I alone am responsible for not understanding the message. "

In addition, Schoeden believes that the Ethereum community must find common values and goals:

"I'm afraid that Preethi [Kasireddy] Last year, she was right to say that it might be necessary to talk (again) about what the community really means. "

After the controversial tweet, users immediately accused the developer of "betrayal", "sabotage" of Ethereum and conflict of interest. Schoeden then explained that the discussions had forced him to leave Ethereum:

"I did not leave the social media, I left Ethereum, I did not go to the dark, I just left the community, I do not coordinate the difficult tasks, I do not build testnets , nor does it contribute anything else.I worked on Ethereum.I did not hate Ethereum, I loved it. "

The pre-release of Ethereum 2.0 began in early February. The hard fork of Constantinople, an upgrade of the Ethereum network, which contains separate Ethereum enhancement proposals (EIPs) to ease the transition from the current proof of work to the payment program, is scheduled for 27 February .

Constantinople experienced its first delay in October 2018 due to a consensus problem detected on the Ropsten test network. In January, the intelligent contract audit firm ChainSecurit discovered a vulnerability in the hard range of Constantinople. The critical problem, which could have allowed reentrant attacks via the use of certain commands in the Ethereum smart contracts, has provoked another deafness.

Andreas Kristof, Blockchain entrepreneur, even insinuated Schoeden was directly responsible for the delay of Serenity.
