A heartbreaking story emerged from Florida where a woman used Linkin Park's song lyrics to help calm a man who seemed ready to commit suicide.
In a video released last week by the Orange County Sheriff's Office, officers talk about the actions of local resident Cristina Settanni, who helped a man sit on the edge of a highway, looking ready to commit suicide.
"The man seemed ready to jump from a higher pbad, but an unknown stopped her car and sat with him until the arrival of a deputy," says the man. the caption of the video.
Settanni normally does not take this route to work, but has fallen behind and thought it would be the fastest way. When she saw the man, she knew that she had to intervene.
"I stopped because I was where he was, I know what it's like to stay on the ledge and think it's your only option," he said. she declared.
"He needed someone to show that someone cared enough to stop and tell him that he did not need to do that today. hui. "
Settanni said that there was "a moment when he advanced".

Officers finally arrived and, although the man did not cooperate to withdraw from the ledge, they managed to get him out of the ledge.
The man was not arrested, but was taken to a mental health facility.
Settani says she continues to think about the ordeal, but that she will no longer use the road.
