A photo of burnt roasted potatoes sparked a social media craze after being posted by an unhappy customer of Toby Carvery.
Laura Heskett took the dark shots. During a visit to the restaurant near Westwood Cross, she was disgusted by this offer, calling the tatties "dry and nasty things".
Laura told Facebook his indignation on Monday night: "Toby Carvery is expecting us to eat roasts like these" accompanied by an emoji.
But the message soon became a hotbed of debate, attracting over 100 comments – many people wondering why she had chosen potatoes.
In defense of her complaint, Laura, who lives in Ramsgate, responded to the criticisms: "Please, do not insult my intelligence thinking that I would choose this one for a more pleasant solution".
She added: "Obviously, the lot looked like this, believe me, I chose the least burned, believe it or not.
"Even the waitress was disgusted and offered us a free meal."
However, other guests, who ate at the restaurant the same day, praised the potatoes.
Karina Barker commented: "We ate here tonight and the roast potatoes were lush, I like crispy mine like that, but if I did not do it, I would not have them. selected.
"There was another choice – do not take the potatoes.
"Nobody forced you to put them on your plate, they did not appear miraculously there, you put them there, and then they complained to them.
"I do not like raw fish, but I do not order sushi, I do not complain about it, I do not eat it."
Laura replied by writing, "May I just say yes, some of you have eaten here tonight and yours were lush, so much the better for you, but what I'm saying is that They decided that serving wooden potatoes would do their customers' business than to make a fee.
"These were in the plate of my friends, she usually likes them crunchy but they were practically hollow."
The row is stopped when a Facebook group administrator where the photo was shared has disabled comments on the message.
When KentOnline contacted the station, a spokesperson for Toby Carvery said, "All our roast potatoes are peeled, chopped and freshly cooked all day long."
