Information available for YEN.com.gh suggests that a plantain thief, 19-year-old barber Solomon Aklotey, was saved from prison.
That's what happened after Joy's Newsfile host Samson Lardy Anyenini joined his guests to bring 1,100 GHC to Aklotey.
Other contributors were North Tongu MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, New Crusading Guide Editor Kweku Baako, Private Lawyer Martin Kpebu and Secretary General of the Ghana Medical Association Dr. Justice. Yankson.

The decision to mobilize resources was taken after a "A" district court in Koforidua District sentenced Aklotey to two months in jail after pleading guilty to the theft of the prosecution.
Aklotey however explained that he wanted to sell the stolen plantain so he could take care of his girlfriend who had just given birth.
According to a report from myjoyonline.com, however, he was fined 600 ¢ GH, failing which he would serve a two-month prison sentence with forced labor.
Aklotey could not pay the fine and was therefore thrown in jail.
YEN.com.gh understands that the money will be used to guarantee the release of Aklotey in prison and that the balance will be used to support the new mother.
In another report, a former Brong Ahafo Area Minister, Eric Opoku, entered the administration headed by Akufo-Addo for collapsing the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
According to him, the government has embezzled 25% of funds from the NHIS, which poses serious problems.
Speaking on Power FM, Opoku argued that the project was facing challenges because the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is not the initiator.
