As many of us know, the family is the basic unit of any society. Family is our first stopover and our first ministry. Family members are the only people who will always be with us, those with whom we will spend the rest of our lives. For this reason, the family should strive to remain united in all situations and under all circumstances. And praying for our families is one way to achieve this goal. As the saying goes, “a family that prays together stays together”. Praying with or for our family members strengthens our bond with them. He teaches us to depend on God, and not on our fellow human beings, for all our needs. It also teaches us to seek the will of God at all times and in all circumstances of life that we find ourselves in. And so, today I want us to pray for all the Nigerian families scattered across Africa, Europe, the Far East, China, Japan, Asia, the UK and the United States of America. .
Lift up your hearts.
Let us remember that we are in the presence of God.
Lord our Heavenly Father! We do not claim to come into your presence by our own righteousness. We only trust the power of your son Jesus Christ who has assured us that no one can come to you, Holy Father, except through him.
Lord, please forgive us for all that we have done wrong today and in the past. We are very sorry and pray that you will restore the good spirit in us. And Lord, as we bow our heads before Your heavenly throne and worship You this morning, we bring our supplications for Your divine grace.
We are very grateful for the good times we continued to spend with our families. Thank you for allowing us to savor and enjoy each other’s company. Thank you for giving us time each day to spend with them.
Today we want to remember all the family members of the people of Nigeria dispersed in whatever state they are in Nigeria, other African countries, Europe, the countries of the Far East, China, Japan, Asia, Great Britain, United States of America and wherever they reside.
You know the anxious times we all must have spent over the years trying to help build a manly country that would show the light and not the darkness to Africa and the world. It has not been easy in the face of the few greedy tyrants and social manipulators who are determined to sow panic and fear among the people, forcing them to find safety in the dismemberment of the country.
But we trust you. We are counting on you to help our people, the Nigerian people in any way they may need help. Strengthen them and guide their way, Lord, as they go about their daily business and the challenges they face in their daily lives, especially bandits and kidnappers, ritualists and all the other bad people. , an unjust and corrupt system inadvertently created over the years. .
Be their shield and always preserve the bond they share with each other as a family. May all their efforts for the restoration of their country as a shining light among the peoples of the world be never in vain and that they live to bear witness to the love of their Heavenly Father in their lives.
Guard their homes wherever they are, O God, so that no harm comes to them. Their homes will continue to be a sanctuary of blessing, comfort and love for each of them. Continue to protect each of them, Lord, while they rest at night, so that no intruder disturbs the happiness of their sleep and no calamity befalls their ancestral homes.
We trust in your mighty power to protect every family of every Nigerian from all form of evil. And dear God, as we continue to place our children and young adults in your care, we also place in your hands the Head of State of Nigeria, General Muhammadu Buhari and his team. We pray that you get into the president’s mind and guide him properly. Give him to understand your will for the people of Nigeria and use it as an instrument to accomplish that will, in the mighty name of Jesus.
Heavenly Father, we know that you are our Healer, our great physician. Lord, continue to be the comfort of every Nigerian family member who is suffering at this time. Touch them with your healing hands and send your Word and heal their diseases. Let your healing power flow through every cell of their body, in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
Beloved Father, we also ask you to heal those Nigerian family members who are suffering emotionally. Their affliction is not physical but we know they are suffering too. Also give them your comfort. Give them the peace that transcends human understanding. Please, father, heal their hearts which may be full of anger, hatred, strife, bitterness, doubt, mistrust and unforgiveness. Clear their minds of any doubt, anxiety or depression and as you lead their leaders to their country, renew in them a spirit of peace, O God!
Father, we also pray that you will help us restore the bonds that have been broken between some members of Nigerian families around the world. We know, my God, that there is nothing you want more than quarreling parents to be reconciled. But we also recognize, Heavenly Father, that we cannot do it on our own. For this reason, we ask your Holy Spirit to surround us with your love. Fill our lives to the brim with overflowing love that we can share with our families. Make us instruments of your blessing.
God our Father, we come before you today to ask you for additional protection over our families. May no problem arise with them this week and in the weeks to come. Keep them away from accidents and bad thoughts of bandits and kidnappers. Do not let any form of evil influence their hearts. Cover them with the precious blood of Jesus. Take charge of them and light their way everywhere they go from home and back home.
Heavenly Father, you are our ultimate source of strength. When we are weak, you are strong to carry us. You lift us up when we’re down. You renew our strength and we soar on wings like the eagle. Thank you, father, for picking us up when we are depressed.
In our times of trouble and trials, God, we look to you. Life can present us with many challenges that we are unable to cope with on our own. But with you, Father, we believe that nothing is impossible because you can do anything. You are the Alpha and the Omega, the whole and the end. And we believe that you will grant us perseverance to overcome any obstacle in our way. You are our strength when we are weak, God, and we are always thankful when you show your power in our lives. Manifest your power in our lives now, O Lord, and save Nigeria from self-destruction.
