Hundreds of protesters packed in a train arrived in Khartoum Tuesday from a city in central Sudan to join a sit-in in front of the army headquarters, demanding the resignation of military leaders.

Groups of journalists, doctors, engineers and veterinarians also marched Tuesday at the protest site in Khartoum, demanding the transfer of power to a civilian regime.
In eastern Sudan, hundreds of protesters took part in a sit-in in front of an army building in the border town of Kbadala, demanding that the leaders of the killing of protesters be translated in justice.
The protest leaders suspended talks with the military council, accusing him of being part of the regime set up by Bashir on Sunday.

They also urged the African Union to postpone the deadline, currently at the end of April, for the Sudanese military council to hand over power to a civilian authority or face a suspension of the regional bloc.
