The Rebecca Foundation commissioned and donated a newly built library in Kumawu to the Sekyere Kumawu District Assembly and the Ghana Library Authority in Ashanti region.

The library was built, furnished and funded by the Rebecca Foundation, with support from the Ghana Education Service, the Ghana Library Authority and Book Aid International.

Recognizing the role of literacy in education, the Rebecca Foundation has so far, through the Learn to Read initiative Read to Learn, built, furnished, funded and commissioned libraries in Wenchi in the region of Bono, Sefwi Debiso in the North West region, Moree in the Central Region, Daffiama Bussie Issah in the Upper West region and Amansaman in the Greater Accra region.

The soon-to-be-completed libraries in Bortianor in the Greater Accra region and in Dambai in the Oti region will bring the total number of libraries built by the Rebecca Foundation to eight.

Meanwhile, the Rebecca Foundation moved swiftly to support sick and frail 40-year-old Georgina Yawa Ankrah following a report released on Tuesday.

First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo, moved with compassion after watching the story, decided to help Georgina through her foundation.
