The Iranian ambbadador to the United Kingdom, Hamid Baeidinejad, warned that the United States and Iran were heading towards "a very serious confrontation for all the inhabitants of the region".
In an exclusive interview with Christiane Amanpour, the ambbadador reacted to the escalating tension between the two countries, while the United States continues to blame Iran for the attack of two tankers in the Gulf of Oman.
Ambbadador Baeidinejad, senior Iranian official in the Foreign Ministry, denied the accusations and warned the White House that it would be "very sorry" to underestimate Iran if a military conflict was declared.
When asked who else could be responsible for the attack, Baeidinejad told other countries in the region "who have invested heavily, billions and billions of dollars to engage the United States in a military conflict with Iran ".
