A Star Wars movie based on the Xbox video game of the Knights of the Old Republic is in preparation

Disney and LucasFilm are currently developing a film adaptation based on the beloved Star Wars video game: The Knights of the Old Republic.
The film was written by Altered Carbon creator Laeta Kalogridis, according to a new Buzzfeed report.
LucasFilm President Kathleen Kennedy said MTV News during the Star Wars celebration that "we are developing something to watch," but she added, "For the moment, I do not know where things might fall.

Kalogridis is about to complete the first scenario of what could be a potential trilogy of films about Knights of the Old Republic.
The filmmaker will be the first woman to write a Star Wars movie in over 40 years since Leigh Brackett co-wrote The Empire Strikes Back with Lawrence Kasdan.
Kalogridis was hired to write a film about The Knights of the Old Republic in the spring of 2018.

The Knights of the Old Republic take place 4000 years before the formation of the Galactic Republic in the Star Wars universe.
The game follows Dark Malak, a Sith Lord who unleashed his Sith armada against the Republic.
The player plays the game as a Jedi who has to travel in different galaxies to defeat Malak.
