The death of a student was confirmed during a riot on the midnight campus at the Sandema Senior High Technical School in the Upper East region.
The deceased, identified only as Nashiru, was allegedly shot in the chest by a stray bullet that was allegedly fired by police officers who responded to the distress call to restore calm.
The incident reportedly occurred around 11:30 pm Tuesday.
Sources said that the student had been declared dead at the Sandema District Hospital.
Another student would have collapsed during the troubles.
In an interview with Starr FM radio in Accra on Wednesday, Builsa North district general manager David Afoko said the badembly was holding an emergency meeting of the district security council (DISEC). ) on the incident.
"We are about to have a DISEC meeting. I just got back from school. I went to see the situation for myself. The students are gathered. We want to make a decision and come back to them, "said the DCE in an interview with Starr FM under the supervision of Graphic Online.
