A UCC graduate kills a brother

The residents of Gomoa Obuasi, a community in Gomoa's central district in the central region, were on Monday afflicted with fear and shock, when a 27-year-old college graduate from the University of Cape Coast (UCC) ), allegedly murdered his own brother around noon.

According to the Police Commander of the District of Swedru, Superintendent Seth Panti Yirenkyi, the deceased and the suspect went to their citrus farm on the outskirts of Gomoa Obuasi and returned home without incident that day.

The district police commander said that after returning home, the deceased decided to take some rest under a tree near their home. The suspect took a machete and headed to the place where his brother was lying over a bbad increase that had ensued between them.

Superintendent Yirenkyi said that the deceased suddenly raised his head to see his brother arrive with the machete. The deceased then felt the danger and fled, but Annan pursued him by striking him in the head.

Director Yirenkyi stated that Botchwey had bled profusely and was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.

He added that Annan was in custody and was involved in investigations to solve the mystery behind the murder.
