An animal lover had to be partially amputated from all four limbs after his dog accidentally licked a scratch on his arm.
Marie Trainer began to show flu-like symptoms in May, the day after she was licked by her excited Alsatian on her return from vacation.

Matthew and Mary are now starting to face their new lives, but say that they are not planning to get rid of their dogs.
