Rebecca Ojo Udonsi, a Nigerian, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to prison by the court chaired by Ms. Rita Abrokwah Doku, who pleaded herself.

In addition to the sentence, the court further ordered the expulsion of the sentenced person after serving his sentence of imprisonment.

Prosecutors told the court that Udonsi had first used a pair of scissors to inflict injuries on the girl in order to force her to confess that she had stolen some money. When that did not work, she used a knife to inflict multiple wounds, locked her in a room and left her alone.

The 12-year-old woman appeared in the hearing room with bandages and wounds all over her body.

Udonsi, after pleading guilty, told the court that her daughter had become a social threat, that she was engaging in provocative behavior, such as stealing, and that she was also having bad with a woman. some boy.

According to her, the girl normally stole money from her and her neighbors, a situation that had resulted in a deterioration of her relations with her neighbors.

Udonsi cried throughout the proceedings and told the court that she had acted that way because she had the right to discipline her daughter to prevent her from losing control of her power.

However, she prayed the judge to temper justice with mercy.

The prosecutor, Chief Inspector Kofi Atimbire, told the court that Udonsi normally accused her daughter of stealing her and subjected her to severe beatings.

According to him, on April 5, 2019, Udonsi woke her daughter around 12:30 pm and accused her of stealing 119.75 GH ¢, but the girl denied stealing money.

The prosecutor said that the girl's denial made Udonsi furious and used scissors to bad her.

"After that, she took a kitchen knife and used it to inflict multiple injuries on her body and her palms and left the girl to her fate," he said.

Chief Inspector Atimbire said the girl was out of the room crying blood that was flowing from her wounds.
The girl met a neighbor who pitied her and managed to arrest Udonsi and take her to the police station.

The police sent a medical form to the neighbor in order to send him to the hospital, investigated and charged Udonsi with the offense.
