Stella Falcone said that she had contracted a bacterial infection after suffering a small cut while she had a manicure in Melbourne.

Stella went to the hospital where she had to undergo several days of operations, which cut her finger to prevent the spread of infection.
Addressing A Current Affair, she said: "I had five operations in six days and I ended up losing the tip of my finger.
"The equipment of the manicure salon has not been sterilized."
She is now pursuing the nail salon, and it has emerged that several other women have experienced similar painful experiences after being done doing the nails.

Alex Bernhardt, a journalist with Current Affair, was infected in the elbow with an elbow injury during a manicure.
Alex was diagnosed with septic bursitis and had to spend three days in the hospital to receive intravenous antibiotics.
She narrowly avoided surgery and stated that the infection had been initially detected during an interview with the former boss of the Australian Medical Association, the MP for Wentworth, Kerryn Phelps.
Professor Phelps saw Alex's finger cut after his manicure and told him that she should see a doctor.

The professional also confirmed that the infection was probably due to the manicure salon.
Alex said, "No one suggests that manicure salons can reach the same levels of sterilization as a large hospital.
"But there is certainly a growing demand for higher levels of hygiene in the industry.
The salon owner accused Alex of "composing a story" and said his nail salon was clean.
After the journalist told her story, many women shared their own painful experiences.
Rita Pavlis, based in Melbourne, said part of her finger was to be removed after a manicure.
She said, "I lost my fingernail and they had to open my finger – fortunately that a plastic surgeon was available – and they had to drain away all the poison that was found there."
