GARDNER, Kan. (KCTV / CNN) – A refueling by a woman at a Kansas service station scared her. A snake made its way through a video screen of a gas pump.

The Minit Mart in Gardner is a convenient place to stop at Holly Malkames.

"Several times a week, I drive a lot," she said.

This week, her Mazda was weak, so she stopped at one of the pumps. It was at that moment that she noticed something on the touch screen.

At first, it looked like a piece of molded rubber.

"Then, I thought maybe he had detached," Malkames said.

Then it started to move.

"Some of the stations will broadcast these entertainment videos," said Malkames. "I thought maybe it was one of those tricks."

She realized that it was rather a snake inside the screen.

"So, then it says," Do you want a car wash? "And I'm like … I did not want to press the button," she said.

Malkames said that she had decided to save the meeting, "mainly because I did not think anyone would believe me".

She showed the video to the employees inside and she finished filling her car with care.

"I was so scared that the snake would come down on that side of the pump," she said.

On Thursday, the service station released a photo of one of the employees safely removing the garden snake, which appeared larger inside the screen.

"I suppose Plexiglas probably increases the size of the snake," said Malkames.

She is happy that the snake came out of there and she said it would not stop her coming back, although she chose a different pump.

The snake did not seem to damage the fuel pump at all. Thursday, he was open to business.
