Kintampo Youth 5 Four people were shot

At least four young people from Mo's traditional area have been shot dead and are fighting for their lives at the Kintampo public hospital in the Bono East area.

They are part of an angry young man from Mo, in North Kintampo, who besieged the Kintampo Divisional Police Station to demand the release of seven people arrested by the police.

They blocked roads leading to the police station, leaving people stranded without alternative roads.

The youth group also managed to lock the Kintampo waterfalls, including the gateway commissioned Monday by President Akufo-Addo.

Nana Abobri Yaw Bonko, acting president of Mo's traditional council, who confirmed Tuesday shooting incidents at 3news, could not tell if it was the police who had fired on her people or the military reinforcement.

The youths would have gone to the cascades to ask the officials of the place to stop their activities because of a case pending in court.

The police, who were called when the problem was out of control, arrested some of the youth.

This angered the young people who headed for the Kintampo Divisional Police Station where people were arrested for their release.

Nana Abobri Yaw Bonko, who seemed concerned about the situation, told 3news that he had contacted the division commander to resolve the problem "amicably".
