Abra CEO says "yes" to XRP for US stocks, while Ripple joins 11 new universities

The Abra cryptography platform will give users in 155 countries the ability to purchase fractional high-priced shares such as Facebook, Amazon and Netflix, as well as exchange-traded funds with XRP.

Abra is already deploying the new trading feature using Bitcoin, and the company's chief executive, Bill Barhydt, said it would implement the same functionality for XRP in the future.

Meanwhile, Ripple has announced 11 new partnerships with leading universities around the world. The company's Blockchain University Research Initiative (UBRI) is designed to provide grants and support programs to contribute to the growth of the blockchain ecosystem.
