Access to care improves for patients with complex lung disease

Pulmonary fibrosis causes progressive scarring of the lungs. More than 50,000 new cases are diagnosed each year and there is no known cure for the disease.

Medical centers that meet the PFF standards for patient treatment, teaching and research are encouraged to apply online at the PFF website, pulmonaryfibrosis.org. Eligibility conditions and details are provided on the website. Applications must be submitted online by April 26, 2019.

The PFF Care Center Network is comprised of medical centers with experienced teams dedicated to improving care for patients with fibrotic lung disease. The experts in pulmonary medicine, rheumatology, radiology and pathology must be part of the care team at each FFP treatment center.

Patients using NCC sites benefit from comprehensive badessment and diagnosis, ongoing care recommendations, badistance with essential social services and the opportunity to participate in research. SCC's medical centers are working with the PFF to actively engage their local FP communities with resources including support groups, clinical trials and outreach events.
