According to a new study, very neurotic men are significantly more likely to suffer from erectile dysfunction and incontinence after prostate surgery, thus risking their cure.
Research suggests that personality tests could improve the care of prostate cancer patients, the most common cancer in British men, with just under 50,000 new cases a year.
The results showed that men with a high neurotic test were on average 20% more likely to experience adverse reactions, including "erectile dysfunction, urinary leakage, and intestinal problems" after radical prostatectomy. Surgical removal of the entire prostate.
