The American Psychological Association interviewed 3,458 adults and 300 teenagers in the United States.
"The results of our 2018 survey show that notorious problems, such as badual harbadment and gun violence, are important stressors for Generation Z," the authors wrote.
"The youngest adults in America are the most likely among all generations to report poor mental health, and Generation Z is also much more likely to seek professional help for mental health issues."
People of this generation, born between the mid-90s and the early 2000s, report more stress about the state of the country. Their reported stress on a scale of 1 to 10 is 5.4. Average adults indicate a ranking of 5.3 on the scale.
However, Generation Z, aged 15 to 21, is more optimistic about the future of the country than other generations: 71% of them said they hoped for the future and about 60% of them stated that they were politically involved in the process. last year.
Minority members of Generation Z, however, were more stressed about certain issues than their white counterparts.
