Consuming more eggs could increase the risk of heart disease, according to a new study.
In the United States, a study of more than 30,000 adults found that consuming an extra half egg per day slightly increased the risk of cardiovascular disease.
Researchers at Northwestern University, in Illinois, said people needed to consume less cholesterol, contained in eggs as well as in other foods such as red meat and processed meat. The study, published in the journal "JAMA", found that eating three to four eggs a week was badociated with a higher risk of 6% of heart and circulatory diseases.
