Accra, April 23, GNA – The Accra Digital Center (ADC), a Technology Park
designed to create an ecosystem conducive to digital innovation and
entrepreneurship in Ghana, is committed to defending the international
Program of the intelligent incubator of the Telecommunications Union (ITU) in the
subregion.
A statement issued in Accra by Ghana's General Affairs Department
Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC), stated that the decision to
the initiative was declared at the 2019 World Information Summit
Civil Society Forum (WSIS) in Geneva, Switzerland.
He clarified that the decision was taken during a formal engagement between Mr.
Alexander Ntoko, Head of Operations and Planning Department,
Telecommunication Standardization Bureau of ITU, Abraham Kofi Asante, Chief
General Manager of GIFEC and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Accra Digital Center, and
Eric Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, General Manager of ADC.
The statement quoted Mr. Ntoko as saying that; "The ITU has accepted the
initiative and that a Memorandum of Understanding would be signed
ITU and ADC for the Smart Incubator program to begin. "
The ITU Intelligent Incubator Program, purposefully designed to badist and
support entrepreneurs and start-up companies focused on early technology
development stages, including artificial intelligence, blockchain and Internet
things.
The ITU Smart Incubator was launched in September 2018 in ITU
Telecommunication world in Durban, South Africa.
