Accra police arrest 19 drug suspects | criminality

Accra Regional Police, with support from the Central District Police, arrested 19 drug suspects in Klewoko and Rawlings Park, Accra.

All 19 people were arrested in one fell swoop on Friday, February 19, with quantities of dried leaves and liquid substances believed to be narcotics collected from them.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Effia Tenge, who reported this to the Ghana News Agency, said on Tuesday that Police Commissioner Richard Bonsu of the Central District of Accra was in charge of a team of 25 people on the operation.

The suspects are: Daniel Dodoo, Judge Krampah, Nathaniel Nelson, Adjetey Sowa, Nii Otoo Joseph, Akushe Quaye, George Tetteh Enyo, Samuel Ahorlu, Benjamin Okyere and Emmanuel Ofoe Caeser.

The others are: Ismael Garshong, Eric Eshun, Joseph Ayetey, Emmanuel Lartey, Nathaniel Nortey, Aban Addo, Solomon Cofie, Cecil MAC-Bruce and Kwame Eric.

She said the 19 suspects were being checked by the police.

Similarly, two people were arrested for attempted theft and resisting legal arrest.

They are Emmanuel Nii Boye, 26, and Bismark Kwabena, 23.

DSP Tenge, said on February 22, 2021 at around 6 p.m. Accra Central District Commander, Superintendent Mr. Richard Bonsu, in charge at Rawlings Park during rush hour, spotted the two trying to snatch the bag from hand of a merchant.

“Seeing the police, they got down to earth and were hot pursued, arrested and taken to the police station for further action,” DSP Tenge added.
