Member of the Central Effutu, Alexander Afenyo Markin
The deputy of the district of Effutu, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, expressed his disappointment regarding the conduct of the current vice-chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) , very reverend father. Anthony Afful-Broni.
According to him, Reverend Afful-Broni would have refused to do what is right when he leaves his position as Prof. Avoke, former vice-chancellor of the university, after being exonerated from the Bureau of Combating Organized and Economic Crime (EOCO).
Professor Avoke and some of the staff, who were fired Tuesday afternoon, stormed the university to take over.
According to Professor Avoke, his decision followed his authorization by EOCO after being charged with abusing his office.
"After a thorough investigation, EOCO concluded in black and white that we had not abused our office or participated in any supply violations. We are back to resume our respective offices and at the right place in the school, "said Professor Avoke.
Professor Avoke, accompanied by other dismissed university staff members, entered the campus and boardroom to attempt to speak at a press conference, but the security agents reacted and disrupted the planned press conference.
But Mr. Afenyo-Markin does not understand why Professor Afful-Broni is constantly ingesting Professor Avoke's administration.
He added that Professor Afful-Broni was aware of the EOCO report and therefore could not understand why the Chancellor behaved in this way.
"My message to this Catholic father is that he should do to others what he wants others to do to him. I will never let Afful-Broni put me in any embarrbadment. Now is the time to speak and to prevent Afful-Broni from interfering in the affairs of the school.
"He is aware of the EOCO report that erases Professor Avoke and the time has come for him to leave. Just as I fought for others, I will fight Avoke and make sure the right thing is done. One day, those who disagree with me will understand me very well, "he said angrily on Okay FM, based in Accra, and monitored by Adomonline.com.
