Comedian Brody Stevens has committed suicide at the age of 48, according to TMZ on Friday. Stevens was known for his humor, his small roles in such films as "The Hangover" and "Due Date", as well as for warming the audience of shows such as "Chelsea Lately" .

Stevens spoke openly about his mental health throughout his career, including following a high-profile manic episode after he stopped taking his mental health medication. He has often included mental health in his comic skits and advocated reducing the stigma of living with a mental illness. During an episode of the podcast, he said, "The happy hour of mental health":

When people who have difficulty feeling compbadion for themselves and who are suffering from a mental illness, or loved ones who do not understand what the person is going through, they are not just suffering from mental illness they suffer from all the social ramifications of living with a mental illness. … So, all of that is related to living with a mental illness, and I just wanted to say it, I just wanted to clarify it, because some people get the impression, "Oh, I hurt too much living with illness mental. "No, it's sometimes a bading pain in the bad. Complicated.

His colleagues and fans reacted to his death on Twitter and offered their condolences.
