Thielen also set an NFL record of at least 100 yards in the first eight games of the 2018 season and set a franchise record with the Vikings totaling nine such games last season.
"He eclipsed the record Randy Moss has held for over 100 yards by a wide Viking receiver," said Lions defensive tackle Mike Daniels. "Randy Moss … you have Moss'd … one of the best of all time.
"Adam Thielen broke Randy Moss's record," added Daniels. "Yes, Adam Thielen is legitimate, man."
"At first I did not think that he was receiving the respect he deserved because he had not pbaded the eye exam," said the half-sister. Bears corner, Prince Amukamara. "But he pbaded the statistics test."
Matthew Slater of New England said, "Nine games of 100 yards, it's amazing."
Thielen's NFL peers also praised his talent for running, and cornerbacks noticed he could be slippery on the field.
"Adam has always been an excellent runner," said Xavier Rhodes, cornerback of the Vikings. "It makes a lot of mistakes in the directions where you think it's going in one direction, it's just the opposite."
Davante Adams, receiver of the Packers Wide: "Adam Thielen is one of my favorites in the league. I have a lot of respect for this guy. "
His other receiver, Stefon Diggs, recalled a touchdown against the Lions, during which Thielen changed his intended course to find the goal zone.
"Some things appear in the game where you have to improvise," said Diggs. "It shows how smart he is."
Thielen is the fifth Minnesota player to appear on the annual list, created from the vote of his players.
Wednesday night's list began with tight Eagles' Zach Ertz 40th, followed by defensive tackle Bears Akiem Hicks, Chargers receiver Keenan Allen, Jets safety Jamal Adams and Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones.
Adams was next, followed by Chargers halfback Melvin Gordon, Thielen and Rams quarterback Jared Goff, while Derwin James of the Chargers' safety closed the list.
