Raipur: The government of Chhattisgarh said Saturday that adequate provisions, including free distribution of drugs, had been put in place in government-run hospitals all over the state for the prevention and treatment of swine flu .
TS Singh Deo, Minister of Health and Family, Chhattisgarh, refuting allegations of more than 10 deaths from swine flu in the state, said seven people had died and the same despite all the measures in force.
The government said the swine flu test was conducted free of charge in the microbiology laboratories of the medical schools of Raipur and Jagalpur and AIIMS of Raipur. Samples for testing are being collected in district hospitals and sent to the prescribed laboratories.
"For surveillance of swine flu patients, the health staff of all district hospitals and surveillance units have been properly trained," the government said in a statement. Vaccine provisions for staff involved in the treatment and treatment of patients have also been made.
The government is also organizing an awareness campaign on swine flu measures and prevention.
